It’s been One Year since we started sharing Dance4Ever Success Stories from our students in our Newsletter. So on the 24th of September 2016 we had a THANK YOU event with the students who have shared their stories from September 2015 – September 2016. Some of our students were on holiday, so we are sorry that you missed it 🙁
It was a RED CARPET theme event, and all our ladies rocked that red carpet walk!
On Saturday 24 September, a group of women from all walks of life gathered at the Heatherside Community Centre for an exclusive, invitation-only event.
The Birch Room had been transformed into a VIP-worthy venue, complete with red carpet and shimmering lights. Sveta greeted each of the special guests with her beaming smile and a complimentary glass of Prosecco. As the conversation started flowing, she explained to us that we would be getting star treatment as a way of thanking us for sharing our success stories in the Dance4Ever community monthly newsletter. We were once again in the limelight!
As Sveta read the highlights from a collection of inspiring, heart-warming stories, we reminisced over how Sveta, the Dance4Ever community and dance have touched our lives. Together, we celebrated amazing accomplishments, triumph over adversity and the power of positivity. We raised a glass of bubbly to the physical recovery that Marilyn, Marjorie, Sue, Caroline and Lisa have experienced, toasted self-confessed Zumba addicts Jo and Jane, both hooked from day one, and congratulated Janette and Judi, who have been part of the community since the very beginning, on their dedication.
It was hard not to feel star-struck in the presence of such remarkable women. I felt every inch the diva standing on the red carpet next to Sveta, clutching a cellophane-wrapped gift basket and being photographed by behind-the-scenes-hero Wayne.
The celebrations continued with a selection of herbal teas, coffee, chocolate cupcakes and a scene-stealing Dance4Ever cake that was almost too beautiful to eat. While we were chatting over refreshments, we agreed that we are part of something truly special.
We all know how important exercise is to our health and well-being. There are gyms and personal trainers and other workout classes that will help you get fit. But Sveta, our very own leading lady, has created a community – one that is welcoming and supportive, where we revel in each other’s achievements.
I’m so thankful to Sveta for creating such an extraordinary community. I can’t wait to feel inspired by all the success stories that are still to come!
