anne

Hi! My name is Anne S, I am 59 years old and and have been married
to Miles for nearly 37 years. We have three children aged 27, 25 and 23,
although none of them lives at home any more. Having worked in a bank, been a full-time mum and finally employed in a primary school as a special needs assistant and also school secretary, I decided to take
early retirement at Christmas 2015. I’m sure several of you will be able
to identify with me about the challenges of being part of the “sandwich
generation” for which I needed some sort of antidote to the stresses
and, having run up and down stairs all day at the school, I knew I was
going to have to find some other way of keeping fit!

This is not to mention the two stone I managed to gain after a stressful 18 months took its toll, followed by a very decadent year to ease me into retirement! I
also wanted a replacement for the lovely line-dancing tutor I had man years ago.

So my on-line search led me to Sveta as she had endless
reviews about her positivity and enthusiasm, which is just as important
as being a talented dancer! On starting Zumba Gold last February, I
found the reviews to be spot-on, and I always leave her classes buzzing
and uplifted!

Having also enjoyed the opportunity to sample different workshops, after
a particularly challenging PiYo session, I realised it was just what I
needed as the perfect complement to the aerobically based Zumba so, in
addition, I started attending that class towards the end of last year
and, since then, have managed to lose a stone in weight and four inches
off my waist! Not only that, whilst I’ve still got a long way to go, I’m
delighted to see the gradual emergence of some muscles for the first
time in my life, and can feel improved stamina!

Another advantage being the lovely friends I have made along the way,
and the way in which, no matter what class you join, you are always made
to feel welcome and included. I am so inspired by Sveta that I have also
introduced my Mum, Mary, to Zumba Gold in Chairs and my eldest daughter,
Christina, to Zumba Fitness, (which I occasionally join her at and just
about manage to keep up!). So on a Monday, Sveta starts her week with
three generations of my family on the same day! Proving there is
something for everyone and every level of fitness.

I have always been the sort of person to shy away from exercise,
preferring to manage my weight with diet alone, but Sveta has changed
all that as her classes feel more like fun than hard work, and I have
now turned into someone who looks forward to my sessions and excitedly
signs up for the workshops!

Many thanks Sveta for all your hard work and dedication. xxx
