Hello, my name’s Caroline and I first met Sveta in January 2015, when we were studying at Farnborough College for our teacher’s training qualification.  I was a private chef and ran my own catering company with a view to teach cooking in the future.

As Sveta and I got to know each other I learnt of her Zumba Gold class at Heatherside Community Centre. I remember telling Sveta that I had been to Zumba classes before at various places and also at the gym that I was currently attending. I found that they were never as fun as I had imagined they might be, the classes too fast for a beginner to learn the steps, the ‘take it or leave it’ attitude of the trainers, the groups cold and unfriendly.

Sveta assured me that her Zumba Gold class would not be like that and that I should try it just once. She said “It would be simples and easy”. And so it was that I tried it and I have never regretted it.

At my first class Sveta greeted me so warmly and introduced me to some other ladies letting them know that I was new. They were all so friendly and chatty it was marvellous. I thoroughly enjoyed my first class, Sveta is such a great instructor and the moves and music really make you want to dance.

I started going to Zumba Gold regularly and promptly cancelled my gym membership. They were surprised as most people join a gym in January!!
As my working days would allow, I then tried some other classes.
FitSteps on a Friday morning makes me feel like I am part of Strictly Come Dancing. I am loving learning to do moves to the waltz, American smooth, jive and tango. I am just missing the sequined dresses. Luckily there aren’t any mirrors around to burst my bubble.

The work I do can be very exhausting and tiring and due to this I had suffered a knee and shoulder injury that I was seeing a physio for. I started doing PiYo on a Monday morning which couldn’t have come at a better time. It really helped to stretch, strengthen and tone my muscles, whilst still getting the cardio benefits of working out to Sveta’s wonderful music. It definitely worked as my injuries improved greatly and I was signed off by my physio therapist.

I have always loved to dance, but these days I don’t get much of a chance to “get on down and boogie” or to “shake my funky stuff”, but Sveta’s classes, have filled that void. I love to go to them, I love the way they make me feel and I love meeting and socializing with the lovely ladies in the Dance4Ever community.

The health benefits means I am moving and strengthening my body every day and together with Sveta’s positive attitude and inspirational outlook on life means I will continue to enjoy life with a healthy mind and a healthy heart.
